Hensting Gemini 2025

Hensting Gemini 2025

Born on 14th June 2024, Gemini had a very straightforward birth, she was born during the walk, so the visitors were able to witness her arrival. She is a healthy and beautiful looking cria (baby alpaca), She has a lovely white fleece. Gemini has thrived on her mother’s milk and, although cria begin to graze at about 2-3 weeks of age she won’t be weaned until 5-6 months of age, nutrition is always a real concern, and we have to make sure she gets plenty of hard feed as well as her mothers’ milk. The father does not have a role in the rearing of their young.

Born on 14th June 2024, Luna had a very straightforward birth, in fact we arrived to find her waiting for us. She is a healthy and beautiful looking cria (baby alpaca), She has a lovely tuxedo grey fleece. Luna has thrived on her mother’s milk and, although cria begin to graze at about 2-3 weeks of age she won’t be weaned until 5-6 months of age, nutrition is always a real concern, and we have to make sure she gets plenty of hard feed as well as her mothers’ milk. The father does not have a role in the rearing of their young.

Born on 9th July 2024, Galaxy had a very straightforward birth. Clematine was on her way down the field to breakfast, when Galaxy decided to arrive, she arrived quickly, and Clematine was able to enjoy her breakfast soon after! Galaxy was a healthy and beautiful looking cria (baby alpaca) with a solid black fleece. All is going well for Galaxy. She is the youngest of the cria born in 2024. Galaxy has a strong bond with her mother and has thrived on her milk. Although alpacas begin to graze at about 3 weeks of age, she will not be fully weaned until 5-6 months of age. Nutrition is always a real concern, and we need make sure she gets plenty of hard feed as well as her mother’s milk. The father does not have a role in the rearing of their young.

Hensting Eros 2025

Born on 11th June 2024, Eros had a very straightforward birth, he is Kahlua’s fourth cria and fourth generation on the farm. Along with his mum, Kahlua, we currently have his great-grandmother, Koala. his grandfather, Grand Design, his uncles, Ebony and Apollo, aunty, Merida and his brother Olaf on the farm. Eros is a healthy and beautiful looking cria (baby alpaca) with a solid white fleece. All is going well for Eros, he has a strong bond with his mother and has thrived on her milk, although, it has been interesting to see Erosalso form a bond with Sienna, another of our females . Although alpacas begin to graze at about 3 weeks of age, he won’t be fully weaned until 5-6 months of age. Nutrition is always a real concern, and we have to make sure he gets plenty of hard feed as well as his mother’s milk. The father does not have a role in the rearing of their young.

Born on 8th June 2024, Apollo had a very straightforward birth, arriving during the break between morning and afternoon walks. He is a healthy and beautiful looking cria (baby alpaca), Rhona was a wonderful mum to Apollo and he has thrived on his mother’s milk until we sadly lost her when he was 6 weeks old. We then stepped in and bottle fed him, he took a while to learn to trust us, but soon learned the bottle meant food and he also enjoyed a little tub of pellet feed each time. Although cria begin to graze at about 2-3 weeks of age he isn’t weaned until 5-6 months of age, nutrition is always a real concern, and we have to make sure he gets plenty of hard feed as well as milk. When mothers milk isn’t available we use goats milk as a substitute. The father does not have a role in the rearing of their young.
