A relaxing Alpaca walk is a great experience, getting up close and learning about these fascinating creatures. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with 3rd parties
NO CHILDREN UNDER 8 years old
Sorry we cannot accept children under 8 years of age as our insurance will not cover them
BAD WEATHER If a booking has to be cancelled due to bad weather, you will be contacted early on the morning of the walk and notified of the cancellation, you will then be given the chance to choose an alternative date convenient to you. refunds will not be given due to circumstances out of our control. This offer is open for 3 months from the date of the cancelled walk
Cancellation disclaimer
On occasion, due to the weather, AND OR COVID19 we must cancel our alpaca walks for the safety of our animals, customers and staff. If we need to cancel the walk you have booked onto, we will contact you at 7:30am on the morning of the walk. We cannot refund customers for these circumstances which are beyond our control, but all customers can re-book their walk within the following three months IF COVID RELATED THEN 6 MONTHS. We do understand that some customers will have planned a trip specially to meet the alpacas and may have travelled a long distance. If this is the case you can still attend Hensting Alpacas for a limited experience on the morning of your cancelled walk where you can meet the alpacas, feed the animals and take part in a shorter walk if it is safe to do so. Customers wishing to do this instead of re-booking their walk must inform Hensting Alpacas by 8.30am on receipt of the cancellation text/email. If you choose this option, you cannot re-book your full walk at a later date.
Adults and children over 12 may lead one of our halter trained alpacas for a walk along the Itchen River. Younger children, over 8yrs of age, can accompany an adult on the walk. 1 child and 1 adult = 1 ticket £39.00
Further information: Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (the ticket is allocated per Alpaca). Please note that if your children are under 16 you will need to accompany them and be able to take the rein in the event the children are uncomfortable or unable to lead the alpaca. Children under 12 will not able to lead their own alpaca. Younger children, over 8yrs of age, can accompany an adult on the walk and will have a second lead to hold along with there adult.
You Must wear sensible outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather and experience with sturdy trainers or shoes & (wellies and waterproofs for wet weather - we still walk in the rain!)
Sorry, no wheelchair access, due to uneven and soft ground and narrow access. Customers Must sign waiver prior to participation.
Terms are applicable to vouchers / tickets purchased. Failure to arrive on time, which result in a no show, are lost and cannot be reused, No refund can be made in these incidences.
Cancellations and Vouchers
Vouchers are now valid for 6 months from purchase and clearly stamped at top with the expiry date. These vouchers cannot be refunded once purchased and can only be used to make a booking. Vouchers must be redeemed within 6 months from purchase, or they will no longer be valid. The gift ticket remains the property of Hensting Alpacas and is not for re-sale, is non-refundable and non-extendable. After tickets have been safely delivered and received by the recipient, it is beyond our control and responsibility, and we're unable to issue replacement tickets should they be misplaced. Hensting Alpacas operate a policy of no refunds or exchanges for tickets bought at admissions, booked online or by telephone. However, please note that booked places are transferable, so please feel free to send other people to fulfil your booking - provided that they have the necessary booking confirmation(s) and/or gift vouchers. Should this be the case, we would appreciate notification of this transfer prior to the walk If you are unwell on the day of your alpaca walk or event we ask that you send someone in your place. If you have booked along with other people, the participants who are not unwell will still be expected to attend.

If you fail to turn up for your alpaca walk we regret that that no refunds or re- scheduling can be offered. Tickets are valid only for the date they are booked and cannot be transferred to another date . Lots of people attend the walks and it would be unfair if we had to wate for someone who was late, so we have to be strict, but if you think you are going to be late please call us beforhand so we may be able to hold the gate for an extra 5 minutes.
vouchers are valid to the end of the day stamped on them. ie Stamped 16th Aug means valid until end of the day August 16th. So this means you must book your walk before this day
can I use the voucher after this time?
No the voucher will become invalid after the use by date and you will have lost your chance
Can I extend the voucher
No unfortunately not as we only allocate a certain number of vouchers per month as we only have a set number of alpacas to walk, so we are very careful to only allow a set number. If we were to extend your voucher in to the next month it would mean the people with vouchers in the following month would not be able to book a space and this would be unfair
How long are the voucher valid?
The vouchers are valid for 6 months depending in what time of the month you purchased the voucher
Can I get a refund on a voucher?
No unfortunately not so please be careful when buying your voucher and make sure it is what you want. Once a voucher is programmed in to the system it is impossible for us to remove it. Its also a gift and if its been used to make a booking then the booking cannot be changed
Website Customers
Once a ticket has been purchased an email will be sent with a voucher which can either be printed off or can be shown via your smart phone! please check your spam folder. The ticket remains the property of Hensting Alpacas Limited and is not for re- sale, is non-refundable and non-transferable. The management reserves the right to refuse admission to any ticket holder and, in the interest of the public and for safety reasons, we also reserve the right to request guests to leave the park at any time. During the walk we take photographs of the experience, and these are published on our Facebook page to enable our customers the opportunity to see their time with us at no extra charge. By booking with us we will trust this is accepted by the customer unless a member of staff is notified on the day prior to the walk, or you contact us in advance. We have toilet facilities and the garden centre next to us does, which is 2 minutes away!
